The Temple of War is a battle stage found in two games of the Samurai Shodown series, whose first appearance was in Blades of Blood released in 1995 by SNK, featured as the final stage where the player faces Zankuro Minazuki.
The floor looks to be made of stones having many cracks. In the near front two cauldrons issuing fire are found and features dragon designs in the body (non destructible); another two cauldrons are found a little in the back. This place is notorious for having four big statues depicting the Hindu divine beings called Asura. The first row of statues each one have different postures; in front of them there are low fences made of wood. Further back there is a second row of statues: the one found at the end of the right side is little visible, while the one at the left looks ridden of a bull. At the deepest, central point of the temple the biggest of the states is found, sitting cross-legged and holding a pole with his right hand. The temple is supported by red pillars of wood, and on the top there are series of tables that supports the roof. The place's windows have red-wood columns, and outside clouds are moving very fast, showing some lightning.
After the player defeats Zankuro two times a thunderbolt strikes the place, causing an explosion that causes the roof and wooden pillars to collapse, falling to the ground. A flash occurs and now the temple looks ruined: wood burns, the cracks on the floor emits a glow, and the roof is gone, showing a red-cloudy sky with lightning. During the last round the place trembles horizontally and storm rays are falling to the ground. If the player defeats Zankuro for third time now starts to rain.
